The Tall Ships Return to Boston: Sail Boston 2026 Kicks Off Tomorrow!

Bostonians and visitors, get ready — the majestic tall ships are almost here! Starting tomorrow, July 10, 2026, the excitement of Sail Boston 2026 begins as part of the global Sail250 celebration marking America’s 250th anniversary.

This once-in-a-generation event brings dozens of historic tall ships and naval vessels from around the world into Boston Harbor for a spectacular maritime festival. Whether you’re a history buff, a sailor at heart, or simply love the beauty of these magnificent vessels under full sail, this is an unforgettable celebration of Boston’s rich seafaring heritage.

What to Expect Starting Tomorrow (July 10)

The festivities officially kick off with the Opening Ceremony on Friday, July 10 at 11:45 AM at the Boston Harbor Hotel Rotunda. With Boston Harbor and the fireboat as a dramatic backdrop, the event features a ceremonial welcome, Blessing of the Sails, and presentation of flags from participating nations. Some vessels will already be positioning offshore, building anticipation for the grand arrival.

The highlight comes the next day with the Meet Boston Parade of Sail on Saturday, July 11 — the ships will glide majestically into the harbor in full view of the public.
